‘GREEN’ GORE GOES GULFSTREAM: VIDEO CATCHES ECO-WARRIOR ON LUXURY PRIVATE JET
Fri Sep 07 2007 07:48:23 ET

**Exclusive**

As former Vice President Al Gore waits to hear if he has won this year’s Nobel Peace Prize for his tireless effort on climate change, a new video will air this weekend capturing Gore on a fuel-guzzling private jet!

*********************************************************

He CLEARLY does not live the life he tells US we must live in order to protect the planet. He is making MILLIONS selling us CARBON CREDITS. so I guess he can afford Gulf Stream Jet trips at the drop of a hat…

Gore is an advocate on behalf of Global Warming. Attack his ideas, not, the man, if, you can. No offense, but this sounds like a Limbaugh show where he likes to attack individuals instead of having a debate on a given topic with experts.

kevw25 on 14 July, 2008 at 9:18 pm #

jet fuel is very cheap and economical to produce. Thats why when the military was making the M-1 Abrams tank, they chose the jet engine. I would be more suprised if Al was flying via a prop driven aircraft. Those are more wasteful.

but he can hug more trees by traveling faster

I look good. on 18 July, 2008 at 9:28 am #

Yes, but liberals are blind to their own hypocrisies.

Amos S on 19 July, 2008 at 11:14 pm #

Jerk also has 3 homes. His “carbon footprint” is the size of Texas.Another “enlightened one” who “knows” how the rest of us should live.Did I say he was a JERK?

jake on 20 July, 2008 at 11:43 am #

I have to poke fun at AL Gore because he is such a hypocrit.

kveryeffective on 23 July, 2008 at 7:16 am #

He lost it with me and his company selling carbon credits meanwhile he has home that is far from green.

I also like how Edwards said we should give up SUVs than jumps into one and leaves.

As far as I am concern Gore’s view is on the same level as Exxon.

artgurrl on 24 July, 2008 at 10:09 am #

And, at the end of the day, you’ve said and proven nothing RLP. The fact that he is making steps in his life to live up to what he says is more than I can say for the GOP these days. Do you expect him to walk across the country to get his message across? Gore indeed pays extra for renewable energy credits, which the power company uses to buy power from nonpolluting sources.
Do you have a point or just a habit of being very superficial.
Your point seems to be that Gore’s supposed hypocrisy somehow undermines the message that we should conserve energy and reduce carbon emissions. So does that mean conservation is less important now that Gore flies a jet? I’m sorry, but an argument is not invalidated when one of its proponents does not follow your interpretation of it to the letter. If I persuasively argue that beating one’s pet is wrong, but it’s discovered I kick my dog when I’m mad, that doesn’t mean people should beat their pets. The logic of the argument and my personal actions are independent events.
Your argument seems to incinuate that Gore isn’t drastically changing his energy consuming habits, so we shouldn’t be expected to, either. Yet, try as I might, I could not think of a single connection between the size of Gore’s electric bill and me line-drying clothing or installing fluorescent light bulbs.

For that matter, I saw no connection between Gore and shutting down my computer when I’m not using it, turning the heat down when I’m not in the house, running my dishwasher only when it’s full, turning lights off when I’m not in a room, riding my bike to school rather than driving, sweeping instead of using a leaf blower, taking shorter showers, carpooling or using a push-mower instead of an electric one.

Like the poster above me said, critique what he says if you can (which we know you can’t otherwise you wouldn’t be posting such nonsense) otherwise the rest is just nit picking nothingness.

Tinker Thinker… again, where is the hypocrisy? Gore is paying for clean energy in his home. He has to fly a jet to get around the country for many engagements he goes to. Do you expect him to walk? If he flew a 747 every time he flew, he’d be putting more pollution in the air than flying a small jet.
The fact and the truth of the matter remains, it’s not Gore’s hypocrisy that bothers you people, its the fact that you don’t want to change because you are too lazy, too comfortable and too selfish to do so. You just want Gore and any other person, including scientists who witness and talk about Global warming and what it is doing to our planet to shut up so you don’t have to feel uncomfortable.

caldude1010101 on 25 July, 2008 at 3:02 am #

I agree with you in principle.

But honestly, do you want Al Gore, his entourage, and secret service protection to log jam an already overcrowded airport?

Do you honestly want to arrive another hour earlier, subjugate yourself to strip searches, etc. so that protected politicians can fly on commerical airlines?

I don’t and will ignore the hypocrisy in the name of convenience.

Moody Red on 26 July, 2008 at 6:46 am #

And have you seen his house that uses at least $2400.00 a month to heat and cool? At least George Bush has a home that does not use fuel to heat and cool it . He uses a piping system with water to heat and cool his home. Gore is a phony and would have put us on the road to destruction. Good question!

CG on 28 July, 2008 at 10:26 am #

It doesn’t make sense he is an advocate for “greening” our homes and lives, yet he flies his plane which probably harms the world more in one flight than one family will in a whole year. It doesn’t add up.

Space Pope Nick XVIII on 31 July, 2008 at 2:10 pm #

He shouldn’t be DQ but he shouldn’t win when there is a bunch of other people who do a lot more for the environment and don’t hurt it as much as he does.

Peacemaker on 4 August, 2008 at 1:15 am #

Let’s see—-Bush, Newt, Rove, etc. all denied the reality of global warming and how it will harm the U.S. and the entire world and they are all using tons of non-renewable energy.

They are using tons of energy to deny the truth and feel no guilt about it whatsoever.

Gore is using energy to educate the world about the truly disasterous consequences of the truth if we don’t change ASAP, but you fault him because he’s using energy to try to save the world.

So, here’s our choices——criticize the guy who’s telling the truth and trying to warn people, or criticize the liars who lie to us and couldn’t care less about reducing oil use and increasing renewable sources of energy.

Gore wins this argument. Yes, He has to use jets to do his work but every time someone buys a Toyota Prius based partly on what Gore has said and done, his jet use is offset by that purchase.

Do you see Bush putting solar panels on the White House? No, we don’t. Why not? Why doesn’t he set a good example for the rest of the country? Because his kiss is attached to Exxon’s behind, that’s why.

He deserves the Nobel prize maybe not boyscout of the year.

john_galt0 on 8 August, 2008 at 9:00 am #

For those who excuse AG hypocrisy; Gore has told us that Global warming is a CRISIS and needs to be attacked immediately. To me (and most people) a crisis says that we should not aggravate the situtation in any way even if we can pay it off with carbon offsets. This means that he should be living the lifestyle that he supports. The truth about carbon offsets; a tree planted now will not become an efficient filter of CO2 for about ten years of growth. Another sad reality if the tree already exists (and it does) then what have we gained? Whether we put it in a forest, park, or government complex it was still doing what it was going to do.

cvq3842 on 9 August, 2008 at 9:28 pm #

Given the fact that previous recipients have included Jimmy Carter and Yasser Arafat, Gore fits right in.

The award itself has become a joke, as is Gore as well.

My favorite is when he always seems to schedule a “global warming” conference on the coldest day of the year. It’s happened more than once.

tinker thinker on 12 August, 2008 at 9:48 pm #

I hope they put out a Nobel prize for most hypercritical, al is the best at it.
artgirl will accept hypocrisy from her party…what a shame.

daddio on 15 August, 2008 at 11:07 pm #

it’s all presented as fact, this global bs….yet there are no facts involved, only observations.

carbon credits are probably the scam of the century. selling nothing for millions, how can you lose?

i just CANNOT take instruction on how to live my life from those yahoos in d.c. they can’t even keep themselves on an even keel. i’ll give you the quote-you tell me who said it. (and we’re supposed to take these people seriously?!?!?)

i did not have *** with that woman
i did not inhale
i invented the internet
i know what it’s like to grow tobacco on the farms
i’ll leave bush alone, because he’s so proficient at putting his foot in his mouth by himself.

socrates on 18 August, 2008 at 3:56 pm #

I don’t think so. I’m one of those wackos who believes that global warming is a real threat to the survival of the species. I also drive my Toyota Tacoma to and from work five days a week (50 miles round trip) when I could take the bus. I don’t think that makes me guilty of unforgivable hypocrisy, of course that’s just my opinion. I think, to some degree we’re all influenced by necessity, convenience, laziness and cultural norms. If Al Gore has a lecture scheduled in the U.S., and another lecture scheduled in China the next day should he walk? If a presidential candidate promises to address the needs of the poor in the U.S. should he commit to living on $1,000.00 a month? Al Gore is one of the few high profile personalities trying to draw attention to our environment’s slide toward chaos. Personally, I think he should be allowed to get the message out by whatever means he thinks work best including private jets.

EnragedParrot on 19 August, 2008 at 2:37 am #

That’s as may be. But I don’t think Gore’s hypocrisy is really all that important. All politicians are dishonest scumbags. It would be out of place if Gore were any different. Just ignore him and focus on what actual climate scientists have to say. You’ll find it much more interesting. I promise.

illiberal Illuminati on 19 August, 2008 at 11:22 pm #

Didn’t Jimmy Carter win a Noble peace Prize?

Yasser Arafat, too?

Seems suitable for Albert.

(Damn McMurphy…
always making me laugh!)

Uncle Wil on 22 August, 2008 at 6:48 am #

Do as I say, not as I do !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND buy your Green Credits from my company, which I own outright, and I never “farm-out / contract out” any provisions for actual green eliminating activities !!!!
O.M.G.,it is fantastic to have millions of “gullible” Americans following my SNOW jobs and sending me millions of their dollars !!! This is even better than riping off the public by taking taxpayers money, and providing the lobbyist with favors !!!!!!
AND I WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS A NOBLE PEACE PRIZE WINNER !!!!!!! ( eat your heart out Hillary, I don’t have to waste my time in politics any longer) !!!!!
Uncle Wil

Ahcho Nam on 24 August, 2008 at 2:29 am #

Now now, he’s paid big money to get that prize just like Arafat did. I think he should be known for buying it like the others have.
