This shouldn’t surprise anyone. Politicians never practice what they preach but they want us to practice what they preach. And…Gore may change his mind about global warming in the near future. He’s been known to change his thinking on several issues.

Yes, the “offset” is how he justifies his extravagances. Personally, I don’t think being “carbon neutral” is good enough. If you’re going to preach to the masses, you should be setting the example in ALL areas. You should be “carbon negative,” or whatever they call it.

He should be traveling by horse and carriage by land, and row boat by sea. Then his words will carry more weight, and then I might listen to him. As for me, I will continue to recycle everything, turn off all my lights that aren’t in use, use the AC and heater in accordance with city guidelines, and use my energy-saving major appliances during non-peak hours. Not because of any threat of global warming, but because it just makes good sense and it’s being a good steward of this planet.
