There are no dislikes to flying a private jet when compared to the airlines- with the exception of cost…
Let’s compare the two:
Airline:
Show up 1.5 - 3 hours hours ahead of your flight. Stand in line at a ticket counter or automated kiosk to check your luggage. Take luggage to TSA for “bomb” screening. Stand in line for security. Endure taking off shoes, extracting laptop, watch other people (who don’t read the signs all over the place) get up to the checkpoint without doing any of the above hold things up while they dispose of liquids, and empty their pockets. Have carryon luggage X-rayed and walk through metal detector. Reclaim everything and put yourself back together. Pay for an overpriced snack/coffee/newspaper once through security. Find gate (walk 1/2 mile to get there). Ask question of the often less than friendly/cheerful airline employee. Wait for flight. Rush with everybody else who has to get on the aircraft first. Get onboard and wedge yourself into seat 2 inches too small while you watch fat lady try to stuff her 40 lb suitcase into the overhead bin. Fight for armrest space with the person next to you. Pay $10 for a dried out turkey sandwich and a coke. Listen to crying babies while you try to ignore the fact that the person in front of you just reclined into your lap. Land at connecting airport. Wait for 20 minutes for “a gate to become available.” Walk another 1/2 mile to connecting gate (or run because you waited 40 minutes for a gate). Wait 1-2 hours for your connecting flight. Deal with another fun-filled flight to your final destination. Land and walk 1/2 mile to baggage claim, where you wait for 30 minutes for your checked (and now squashed, tossed, scrapped, battered and bruised) luggage to arrive. Leave destination airport. Total travel time: Flight time plus 3-5 hours.
Private Jet:
Show up 15 minutes prior to departure (or call ahead and change the departure time if you are early/late). Pull up in front of the private terminal (or in front of the airplane, depending on where you are travelling from). Show your ID to the flight crew (if you’re chartering… I don’t do this with my passengers since I know them personally on a first name basis). Get onboard. Wait 2-5 minutes while crew loads your luggage. Have cup of gourmet coffee or another beverage before you depart. Wait 2-3 minutes while engines are started. Depart. While enroute enjoy a catered meal of three to four star food that you requested. Watch a movie on the entertainment system. Make phone calls or conduct business in private without listening to screaming children or worrying about somebody looking over your shoulder. Recline 45 degrees and take a nap. Land at your destination (which is probably a lot closer to where you want to be than the nearest commercial airport). Wait 3-4 minutes while your crew retrieves your luggage. Walk into terminal and meet your driver or get your rental car. Leave airport approximately 5-10 minutes after landing. Total travel time: Flight time (direct flight) plus 15-20 minutes.
Lots of likes… not many dislikes.
Really there are not dislikes about traveling on a private jet. I have done it many times and it is the best way to travel.
