I would take a Gulfstream V-SP for long distance and an Adams A700 for personal use if I were filthy rich

I wouldn’t. I’d have to pay someone to drive the doggone thing so it would be a money guzzler. No thank you!

I don’t know the different kinds, but I would like one that is luxurious and could accomodate at least 20 people.

I wouldn’t, even if I could afford it. There are plenty of more useful things to do with that money.

God bless!

SAMD010 on 19 November, 2008 at 9:04 am #

I would want one that has some sort of fuel injected engines.

quiet_vipassana on 25 November, 2008 at 6:13 pm #

ME-262.

Forget passengers. Or fuel economy. Or anything else. It’s a cool aircraft, and I’d be the only one on almost any airport, with one.

The Gulfstream for sure !!

I would like the Cessan Citation X it can fly at 51,000 ft. and go up to mach .91 which would make a trip from L.A. to New York about 4 hours long!

If I had the money, I’d have my own custom plane made. I would take the biggest private jet airframe and make a party plane with big speakers, a line of colourful lights running the legnth of the top of the plane, sound proof cockpit so the pilots can concentrate, bar, interior strobe light and disco ball, beds and couches, a luxurious bathroom, and of course a flame paint job on the outside with hot rod style pinstriping. And I’d add some nice details inside like a cool sting of lights on the roof, those red mexican poofball things that hang in a line, and a bunch of bumper stickers with clever sayings. And I’d also have fake .50 cal machine guns sticking out of the wing, and airshow smoke. And that’s the most airworthy jet that would be out there.

Boeing Business Jet. The BBJ is the ultimate business jet.

Intercontinental range. 800-1200 sq feet inside. That is larger than many apartments or hotel rooms. You can get them with a real bed and a shower.

rhsaunders on 8 December, 2008 at 3:23 am #

Something small, to keep the fuel costs down. One needs a type rating to fly any jet aircraft.

For personal goofing off, I’d probably go with a Paris Jet.

As a business write off, a Flexjet share in a Lear 60.

Having seen the reliability, and more of the inner workings than you’d like me to describe, a Lockheed JetstarII would be fun to have.

And just because I like to learn, an old HS-125 3AR or 400, (and swear and throw things across the hangar in frustration.) It’s a turbine powered, flying, Rube Goldberg device. I always wanted to fly with a pair of handlebars rather than a traditional yoke. I’d like to learn what the engineers were thinking, or maybe drinking, when they designed it the way they did.

I would probably buy a 777-200 like Wells Fargo. Except I would live in it. And then fly around when needed. Set up a few bedrooms, showers, bathrooms, everything. Then I would get the type rating to be able to fly it, with someone else of course.

Global Express.

Long Range even from a short field.

Nice wide cabin compared to the Gulfstreams.
