Zarbon Z asked:

Obama only owns 1 house for his family, and 1 car for himself, and 1 bicycle, and no private jets.

Who really is more elitist republican’s did McCain really need all those houses to live in an all those fancy cars to drive around town? and does he need that private jet too or is it just all for show an elitism?

You mean that Cindy owns? I didn’t realize Cindy was running for President.

My parents own 4 or 5 houses and a duplex (all paid off) - they are retired and live off the income from those houses that they rent out. Does that make them elite? No, I think it makes them intelligent planners who take care of their own finances.

Forget War Buy More on 10 April, 2008 at 12:51 pm #

Because they are referring to him as an intellectual elite. Ironically, that is a good word and a good reference.

Abu#2 on 13 April, 2008 at 3:18 am #

Why don’t you look into how Obama got that house. Rezko ring any bells? If Obama isn’t an elitist then why do people have to pay 30K per plate at one of his functions? Why doesn’t he make it 20 bucks per plate so the “simple working man” that he cares SO MUCH about can attend?

McCain scored a rich wife….. can you really blame him?

Welcome to America, the land of opportunity.

Why are liberals becoming born-again blue collar Americans after voting for John Kerry only 4 years ago?

McCain wears Depends on 14 April, 2008 at 10:08 pm #

Because Obama is educated. That’s a threat to the conservatives

Leslie g on 17 April, 2008 at 10:04 pm #

Republicans are idiots and it’s as simple as that. They can’t define elitist.

JerseyGirlinExile on 19 April, 2008 at 2:47 am #

Elitist is a code word for “intelligent”.

We don’t want none of them there smart guys running the country!

www.scapegoatz.com on 22 April, 2008 at 8:41 am #

Elitist is much different from being elite.
Looking down on someone and thinking that you are better is being an elitist.

Bill in Kansas on 24 April, 2008 at 11:11 pm #

Obama looks down his nose at everyone and thinks he knows more than the people he speaks to

It’s not about money, it’s about attitude

huckleberryjay on 25 April, 2008 at 2:03 am #

It’s simple, the tax payers paid for McCain’s houses… Obama purchased his house with his own money, he must think he’s better than us or something!

sookiesookie on 26 April, 2008 at 3:44 pm #

i think he should take some of those houses sell them and put the money toward this screwed up economy instead of coming and getting it from us

redstatemoron on 29 April, 2008 at 9:41 pm #

Frankly I want someone who is above average. I don’t want to have someone who was a C student (or lower) running this country.

How_Would_I_Know on 1 May, 2008 at 9:27 pm #

Elitism isn’t about wealth, it’s about attitude.

But what do I know.. according to Obama I’m just a bitter Pennsylvania voter clinging to guns and religion.

tys7344 on 4 May, 2008 at 8:38 pm #

It’s not about being rich. It’s about being a snob. When Obama said small town americans are bitter and that’s why they cling to their guns and religion, that’s being a snob. Calling people hicks was not a good idea!

Evita on 6 May, 2008 at 1:16 am #

It’s amazing all the things people will say to excuse away these losers.

I hope one day they see how RIDICULOUS they are and cringe in shame…for now I’ll cringe for the rest of educated AMERICA.

emma-nemma on 7 May, 2008 at 6:17 am #

How rich you are or how many houses you own has nothing to do with being Elitist. An Elitist thinks he is better than other people. It means he looks down on those who have not achieved a level of success equal to his. There are elitists who have little money, but still think their ‘crap’ doesn’t stink.

Obama is an elitist in the truest sense of the word. McCain and his wife do not ‘lord their money or success’ over other people, nor do they talk condescendingly about the less fortunate behind their backs.

Chupate esa! on 10 May, 2008 at 1:35 pm #

Trickle down is the most elitist policy ever created in this country.

grump56 on 11 May, 2008 at 11:50 am #

Elitist is an attitude, not totally a financial thing. I don’t consider Obama to be an elitist, but I consider his wife one.

El Tecolote on 11 May, 2008 at 2:51 pm #

I don’t think Obama is an elitist. I just don’t think he realizes that there are Americans who don’t live in big cities and that there are Americans with whom he has no life experience with which to identify to them. The part where I don’t think he really cares is what bothers me.

“THEY vote based on God and guns…” That use of the word “They” is a case in point.

Jupiter Ceasar Leprechaun II on 13 May, 2008 at 1:16 am #

judging by bush they dont really think much at all

Stand UP Chuck on 15 May, 2008 at 6:55 am #

It’s his condescending attitude. It’s his being two-faced. Saying one thing to one crowd and something totally different to another. You know, the bible-clinger-type comments.

Joe H on 16 May, 2008 at 5:34 pm #

NOOOOOOO! The man has things that he’s earned in his life? Oh NO! And he didn’t give it all to other people? Oh NO. That dirty rotten low down no good! How dare he??

River Euphrates on 18 May, 2008 at 3:39 pm #

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!!!

Return of Bite My Shiny Metal... on 20 May, 2008 at 12:46 am #

Elitist is a matter of behavior, not wealth.

Since when did need become a criteria for acquiring property? I have a Porsche, which I don’t need but I want. Doesn’t make me an elitist.

correrafan on 23 May, 2008 at 9:20 am #

Most of the posters here know what “elitist” means. It basically means that you believe that your life is worth more to you than someone else’s life is worth to them. It is the fundamental belief that you are “better” than other people, or certain other people. It is a destructive, outdated, arrogant attitude that has no place in a country where it is codified that “all are created equal”. I am studying the candidates, and have found neither of them displays very much elitism. On the other hand, I find Joe Biden very down-to-Earth, and Ms. Palin talks like an elitist of a very narrow sort. It just shows in her every word and body language…
